Our river warehouse is located in beautiful Fairmont, BC at 4985 Hot Springs
Road. Our base of operations is located just north in Golden, BC at 612
7th street North, on the road to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Please refer to

2. What equipment do you provide?
We provide you with all of your river rafting equipment required for the
Columbia float trip. This includes life jackets, self-bailing rafts and
paddles. We provide transportation to and from the Columbia River and our buses
are driven by professional class 4 licensed drivers.

3. What should I bring?
All you need to bring is clothing appropriate for the weather, a camera,
suncreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

4. Do I need to know how to
swim?
You should be comfortable around water but dont need to be an expert swimmer
to go rafting with Glacier Raft Adventures. We use top quality life jackets
that are very buoyant and will keep you floating.

5. What if it rains?
We run rain or shine so make sure you bring rain gear if the weather
dictates.

6. Will I fall out of the Raft?
There is always a possibility of falling out while rafting. The
Columbia River is a friendly river and it is unlikely that will
happen.

7. How are rapids rated?
Rapids are rated on a scale of 1-6. Class 1: Moving water. Class 2: Splashy
waves. Class 3: Easy maneuvering rapids, waves. Class 4: Intense rapids,
technical maneuvering. Class 5: Long, powerful rapids with serious
consequences. Class 6: NO GO! The Columbia River is all Class
1.

8. Is someone going to take my
photograph?
It is up to you to bring a camera on the Columbia float trip.

9. Do I need experience to come rafting?
No you do not. Many of our rafters are first timers. Our guides take time to
acclimatize you so that you feel comfortable and confident in the raft.

10. Do you ever see wildlife while you're on
the river?
Yes! Birds, black bears, deer, moose, big horn sheep, and bald eagles
are among many of the animals often spotted along the banks of the Columbia
River.

11. What makes Glacier Raft Adventures
unique?
This is our 29th year of running white water rafting trips in the Rocky
Mountains. Glacier was one of the first companies to raft the Toby Creek
and the Kicking Horse River and the first company to run commercial trips
on the lower canyon. Our trips are never rushed and we always take time to
ensure your safety and enjoyment. We limit each boat to 9 customers allowing
maximum comfort and personal attention from your guide. Trips are designed for
you to have a memorable day out, appreciate our beautiful area and enjoy the
entertainment provided by our guides. Our Toby Creek raft trips runs an
extra 2km exclusive to Glacier Raft Adventures which boats a very fun finish to
the trip. We take great pride in out customer service and attention to
detail.

12. When does our season Start/End?
We start rafting May long weekend and run trips everyday until Labour Day
weekend in September!

13. Is this trip great for Kids?
Definitely!!! A great trip for young children. They can run
around the raft and enjoy some fresh air.

We will provide drinking water but we don't want to spoil your dinner!
